I went to the cinema hoping to see the film this had been cracked up to be. However i left feeling underwhelmed and a little bit bored by the end. The idea of the plot was good, the execution of the idea wasn't great. Ledger did a good job as the Joker, but his effectiveness in the role has been exaggerated, which is too be expected considering the circumstances. The film is most definitely too long, and the writers could not seem to decide which part of the plot to focus on, i.e. Bruce Wayne's desire to give up Batman, The Joker's mad plots, the crime's being committed by the mob, Wayne's love life. When all these inter-twined the film became a bit messy and there were a few pointless parts to it. There were some very unrealistic parts in the film but this expected and desired in a film of this sort. I must stress I did think it was a good film, but for this film to be rated number 3 in all time IMDb ratings is, and please excuse the pun, a bit of Joke.
